Ink and Honor: Steve Wins Big on Veterans Day!
On this Veterans Day, we're not just celebrating the brave men and women who have served our country; we're also raising our glasses to one Marine Corps veteran who just scored big in a free tattoo drawing. Let's dive into the story of Steve, the lucky warrior who is turning his body into a canvas of honor.
Veterans Day is a time to honor those who have shouldered the burdens of the call of duty and service. It's also a day to appreciate the unique stories that veterans carry with them, stories etched into their very being. Steve, a Muncie/Yorktown local and a Marine Corps veteran, found himself at the intersection of duty and ink when he won a free tattoo drawing on this special day.
In a twist of fate, Steve's name was drawn from a pool of eager veterans hoping to add a touch of art to their military tales. Signature Rose enjoys honoring our veterans. The giveaway is a way of giving back to those who have given so much.
So, what did Steve choose for his free ink? A fierce bald eagle clutching a globe in its talons, a symbol of freedom and global responsibility? No, that one already resides on his upper arm, along with a tattoo of an American flag . It's not just a tattoo; it's a piece of living art that tells the story of a Marine's journey through duty and sacrifice. What Steve wanted is an old tattoo freshened up and brought to life. A soldier’s cross tattoo with a flag in the background with text.
As the tattoo machine hummed along, Steve and I talked about time served, cracked jokes and shared life stories. Conversation echoed in the studio, merging with the rhythmic melody of ink meeting flesh. Getting to know Steve was a pleasure. After hours of meticulous work, the tattoo was complete. Steve, like most veterans, faces challenges head-on and now adorned with his new emblem of honor, rose from the chair with a sense of victory.
On this Veterans Day, Steve not only won a free veteran tattoo but also etched another chapter of his military journey onto his skin. The tattoo stands as a symbol of the sacrifices made, the victories earned, and the camaraderie that binds our armed forces. “Gone but not forgotten” Here's to Steve and all veterans, for turning their stories into living art and reminding us that the ink of honor lasts a lifetime.
Many of you may remember the St. Crispin's Day Speech comes from William Shakespeare's play Henry V, and it includes the now very famous phrase " Band of Brothers".In the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers during the closing scene of the series, Carwood Lipton quotes from Shakespeare's speech.
I see this speech as a code of honor and a call to uphold your brothers and sisters in the military, and beyond. You are not alone.
