Minors
The minimum age for a tattoo is 16 and older. All minors tattooed in Delaware County are required to be accompanied by BOTH parent(s) or the sole legal guardian/parent. Both parents or guardians must also provide a photo ID for the minor and the minor’s birth certificate.
The BMV offers state issued IDs for minors, but we also accept school ID’s, passports, or the Safe at Home cards which can be purchased at Walgreen’s for $5.
Thank you for helping us to comply with our state and county regulations.
Photo IDs for parent/guardian can be:
State ID or Dr’s License, Work ID, Passport or School ID.
Parents, please bring two IDs with your information on it as well. If you have a driver’s license you will need something else with your name on it. Such as a credit card, social security card, library card etc.
Legal Guardians should bring in actual guardianship papers from the court.

Be Prepared
Please come to your appointment well-rested and well-fed. Properly fueling your body and staying hydrated will help promote a healthy, positive tattoo experience.
Bring water, a sugary drink, and/or small snacks. Eating is not allowed in the actual workspace, you are more than welcome to step into the waiting area to refuel.
Make sure you bring your ID and wallet with you to your appointment.
Wear Proper Clothing
Choose clothing that allows the artist to freely access the area being tattooed and helps you feel comfortable. If you are being tattooed in a sensitive area and have questions on how you might feel most comfortable, please ask for recommendations.
It is recommended that you wear something you could slip back on easily during breaks. The building has a shared public bathroom in the main hallway just outside the studio. A dark colored or old zip up hoodie works wonders in most cases!
Numbing Products
Most customers agree that I have a light hand and that most tattoos are fine without any type of numbing.
While numbing creams reduce pain, they may not eliminate it entirely. Your body’s natural response to stress hormones like adrenaline and norepinephrine can also have a numbing effect, making you feel less pain during certain moments.
I will usually substitute an antiseptic wash with 4% lidocaine to help ease any discomfort for longer tattoo sessions. It is a topically applied first aid liquid with active ingredients benzalkonium chloride (an antiseptic) and lidocaine (a topical anesthetic). It can be applied during the tattoo session to help take the edge off of most sessions. I personally find that most people don’t require it until it gets about 2.5 hours in, and then it just takes the edge off and cools the skin. I will usually soak the skin during a break.
Additional product isn’t necessary for most tattoos. I do see where it may be helpful for some people, and for longer tattoo sessions.
For those who choose to use it, numbing cream is available and requires an application 45 minutes before your scheduled tattoo session. It may be applied at the beginning of your session.
Touch ups
Touch ups are available if you have a spot or a line that needs repaired due to the healing process. These should be addressed within the first 6 months or you may be charged. And if done within 1-6 months touch ups are included in your initial setup fee. Feel free to reach out to schedule a touch up session!

Aftercare
You will receive aftercare instructions along with your tattoo. If you have any specific questions either before or after your session, please ask. H2Ocean tattoo aftercare is recommended and available at the studio.
Once you leave the studio with your new tattoo, it is your responsibility to care for it and administer proper aftercare. This keeps your new tattoo free of irritation and infection, and allows for a happier, better healing tattoo.
